Description:
Clover and Shanty head topside, the cool deck chilly against the filly’s hooves.
“Ready kiddo?” Shanty says with a yawn, and Clover quickly nods.
Immediately, Shanty takes to the air, grabbing Clover by the shoulders as she hefts the filly into the sky with ease. Clover feels her stomach tumble and her balance shift, the feeling of being hoisted so high scaring the tiny pony as they finally settle on the Crow’s Nest, much to her relief.
Oh thank Celestia, that was too spooky for her.
“Ya alright? Rough ride, eh? Sorry. Still a little grumpy from the lack of sleep.” Shanty explains, yawning. The bags under her eyes have lightened considerably in the meantime, though they’re still there. “But I’ve got fight in me.”
Clover notices an abundance of blankets in the nest, all soggy from the rain. Shanty points out that she spends a lot of time up here, enough to call for it on colder days. She withdraws a small spyglass from one of the less wet sheets, placing it to her eye as she looks around. A light shines in the distance, spinning around slowly.
“Mmm… not good. It’s a bit foggy out, Kiddo. You might not get to see it…”
Suddenly, a crow lands on the banister in front of Clover.
“Oh hey, look who it is!” Shanty says, setting the eye glass on Clover’s head nonchalantly. Clover begrudgingly takes it in her hooves, inspecting it, and the bird.
“See this Clover? This is Vee’s buddy… what’s your name again?”
The crow caws enthusiastically, puffing its chest.
“Interesting!”
Well what did he say?
“I have no idea. I don’t speak crow. But he’s probably looking for Silverwind. Oi, he’s down in his room, I bet. Hey Hook! Pop the door for the crow, will you?” She shouts below, and the crow bolts down to meet Hook.
“Not everyday we get to see Vee’s crow on our ship. Must be important.”
Clover asks exactly what she may not see today, since it’s so foggy.
“I wanted you to get the best view of Vanhoover… but with this fog… hmm. Y’know what, I got time. And I have to call for land, sooo…
Clover is suddenly tossed onto Shanty’s back, dropping the spyglass on the floor.
“Checking for land, Hook! Lighthouse spotted!”
“AYE!”
Clover’s eyes grow wide as she hugs onto the lewd pony’s neck tightly, before they take to the sky!
