Personality:

Song is quiet, but that doesn’t mean that she’s shy.  Rather, she’s level headed and doesn’t bother intervening unless she feels like it.  If there is something that she feels is worth saying you’ll know it because Song is painfully straightforward.  Surprisingly, she also has a playful side that tends to come out when she’s babysitting.

Background:

Lullaby Song has always been a quiet pony.  That coupled with her usual, dead-eyed stare didn’t exactly earn her many friends early on.  Still, she never felt particularly lonely since she always had Uncle Discord to fill that void.  Being the only child of his best friend, Discord treated her like a princess and spoiled her rotten.  He also instilled in her a love of pranks which she occasionally pulls— not that anyone actually realizes that she’s the one behind them.  However, Discord eventually ended up starting a family of his own (with Maud Pie of all ponies) which left him with less time to spend with Song.  It annoyed her at first, but she eventually got over it when she befriended Pinkie Pie’s daughter, Barrel O’ Laughter.  She even started babysitting Discord’s kid, Igneous, and arranging play dates for him with Barrel’s little sister.  Through this, Lullaby Song realized that she kind of liked taking care of kids.  While she hasn’t made a full blown career out of it, Song does babysit fairly regularly.  She also occasionally helps Cheerilee out at the schoolhouse.

Notes:

She has a beautiful singing voice, but she doesn’t actually do a lot of singing.  Only a handful of ponies actually know that that’s where her real talent lies.  (Even though you’d think that the cutie mark would be a dead give away.  Most assume that taking care of kids is her talent and that the music notes are supposed represent the lullabies she sings to them)

Song occasionally pulls pranks.  She’s subtle about it though and even when she tells ponies it was her doing they don’t tend to believe her.

She almost always wears a pink ribbon around her neck.  It was given to her by Octavia.

She is good with kids and animals.

Notable Relationships:

Fluttershy

Fluttershy has always been a sweet and caring mother.  When they’re together, it might not look like they’re getting along because Song doesn’t really emote, but they are.  Fluttershy is understanding of this and doesn’t ask Song to change.  Song likes to go over to her mother’s house to have tea parties with her moms and their animal friends.

Octavia

Nothing calms Song down more than listening to Octavia play.  She has a great deal of respect for her mother and learned to appreciate music from her.  They are on good terms, even if Octavia wishes that Song would pursue her actual talent more.

Discord

Song’s first babysitter.  Octavia had her doubts, but Fluttershy convinced her to give him a chance.  The result was… well, disasterous, but when they saw that Discord actually made Song smile they decided it was worth letting him continue looking after her.  Song adores “uncle” Discord and got her mischievous streak from him.

Maud Pie

At first, Song held a grudge against Maud for taking Discord away from her.  Then, they actually met and Song decided they actually had a lot in common (mostly the dead eyed stare).  They’re on friendly enough terms at this point.

Igneous

Being Discord’s child, Song thinks that Igneous is the most precious thing in the world and plans to protect and spoil him to the best of her abilities.  Her actual personality really shows when she’s looking after him.

Barrel O’ Laughs

Barrel is Song’s best friend and has been for awhile now.  The outgoing pony compliments Song nicely and Barrel likes the fact that she can always bring her little sister by without Song getting upset over it.  They hang out frequently and get up to all sorts of things.

Apple Trend

Apple Trend is more Barrel’s friend than Song’s but they get along well enough.  Song doesn’t mind being around him when the three of them are hanging out together.

Cheerilee

Song occasionally helps Cheerilee out at the school.  They have a professional and friendly relationship.
