meet princess umbra and princess sol! the daughters of princess celestia and mirror sombra. they’re fraternal twins! 

princess umbra – the younger of the two sisters, despite feeling like she is permanently residing in the shadow of her elder (by only a few minutes mind you) sister, she receives most of the attention from their mother due to resembling her father more than sol. as she is not luna’s child she cannot be the heir to the lunar house, unlike her sister being her mother’s heir. because of this she feels as though she has no real purpose as a princess besides being an ‘extra’. 

her talent is mainly focused on dark magic, as her body is strong enough to handle it and she has been entrusted by her mother to learn it as to protect equestria and harness these abilities for good. sometimes it does get a bit too much for her though

princess sol – the radient, lovable princess of equestria, an almost spitting image of her mother and heir to the solar house, sol is everything a princess should be. her subjects adore her and she has the ability to make friends with everyone she meets. despite this, she is rather jealous of the time her mother spends with her younger sister, seeming to never have time to spend with her because of arrangements or asking the elements to help save equestria again.

her special talent is mainly fire magic, and she’s like one big solar battery as she gains her magic straight from the sun. she is also learning how to raise and set the sun, as her mother had to do when she was younger. (i know she’s not a unicorn but since she’s the daughter of an alicorn i imagine she has magic like a unicorn does – minus the horn)

both of them get on quite well with princess prism dusk, but umbra is curious as to where the filly came from, because she could swear that she wasn’t always there. they also act as replacements for the elements due to – well – the elements being gone.
