The chest was motionless. “No you didn’t,” said a voice from within. “I’m treasure.“

“Treasure doesn’t talk,” you said as you crossed your arms and leaned against the cave wall.

“Yeah it does.“

You reached into your pocket and pulled out the gemstone you found in a pot earlier. “Well that’s too bad,” you said tauntingly, “Because I was supposed to give this nice yummy sapphire to a mimic—“

You were silenced by the sight of the chest undulating like it was made of rubber and bursting open.
