_(Flash Sentry and his daughter, Nova, sit impatiently staring at a portal)_ __Nova:__ Shouldnt he have passed through by now? Where is he? __Flash:__ Give it time, Nova.. Crossing over from alternate universes isnt an easy task.. Crescendo left only moments ago; Be patient. _(Finally, moments later, Nova and Flash see a pair of blue hooves stepping through the portal. A young unicorn enters the room, looking very confused)_ __Nova:__ You’re here! _\[\*she leaps towards the newcomer and hugs him suddenly. The unicorn gasps in shock, but lets it happen\*\]_ __Flash:__ Its nice to meet you, Dusk Star. Welcome to our universe. __Nova:__ My name’s Nova! Ill be your new sister for the next few days! We’re so happy to have you~ __Dusk:__ New sister..? Flash..? You-You guys actually want me here? _\[\*stares at them with wide eyes\*\]_ __Nova:__ Well of course, you’re our guest, Dusk Star! __Flash:__ You’re more than welcome here. _\[\*puts a reassuring hoof on Dusk's shoulder with a kind smile\* \]_ __Dusk:__ .. _\[\*smiles and tears start to well in his eyes\*\]_ How long can I stay here? —- The first of two fan arts I drew for a wonderful story writer and ponyartist named, kindheart525 ! I may not be the most active commentor, but I do love reading her Next Gen stories when I get the free time Although they are usually always so dark, morbid or grim; Those kinds of stories are still viable topics and shes been brave enough to cover some pretty dark material.. Its actually inspiring in a way xD Drama does makes a good story, after all! lol Ive been wanting to make some fan art of her NG universe for a while now, but I was never sure how to go about it.. Until recently. Of course, I am always drawn to OCs that are sons of Twilight Sparkle; I mean, my first NG OC was Crescendo – Designed specifically to be Twilights son. I just have a weakness for them.. So naturally I really liked Dusk Star. He always reminded me a little of my Crescendo.. But it wasnt until the reveal of him having a different father than his sister and being outcasted and all that really inspired me to finaly draw something. Dusk Star’s story is a lot like Crescendo’s; just a bit darker in certain areas. (Not like Crescendo’s story isnt dark; His was literally dark lol) I then started comparing the two siblings: Crescendo and Nova, Dusk Star and Galaxy Guard. Crescendo was ignored and became jealous of Nova’s love and admiration, raised without knowing his true father and disowning Flash Sentry as his dad.. Filled with so much lonliness and jealousy, he became corrupted. Dusk Star was mistreated by his sister, emotionally abused, ignored by Flash; he too was lonely. Similarities between Nova and Galaxy are pretty obvious; they are both second born, daughters of Flash Sentry who joined the Royal Guard. Nova, however, is patient and kind; whereas Galaxy is bitter, and unforgiving. They are basically opposite each other. The major differences are that in the Pandaverse, Flash truely loves Crescendo like his own son, and Crescendo eventually learns that, and in the Pandaverse, Nova does not hate Crescendo; In fact, the two share one of the strongest sibling bonds in my NG universe. Nova does not mistreat her brother as Galaxy treats Dusk. So I decided with that in mind to draw an alternate universe life swap fan art in two parts! — This first piece shows Dusk Star being welcomed and hugged by Nova, and the Pandaverse Flash Sentry. In a complete parallel, Dusk Star is in tears over how wonderful this universe is; And the fact this Flash cares about him, and he has a “sister” who is happy to see him. He may never want to go back to his own universe after this xD
