Description:

Ok so you the last piece I did (MLP G1: Glory’s Meadow) was originally sketched in the summer/fall of 2018… This one was sketched not long after that. Basically when I first started sketching the pony I had no idea who she was going to be, normally what happens is I start with the idea of what pony I want to do and then as I’m working on the sketch the who changes. I don’t remember who she was going to be originally but I had a while back promised myself I would eventually draw Shoreline.

Shoreline was apparently one of the ponies I had in my childhood that I had completely forgotten about. I have no memory of playing with that particular pony toy as a kid… but both me and my brother found her in a plastic tub with most of my other stuff from before 2003 (I don’t 100% remember when we moved from one house to another but I think I must have been in 8th or 9th grade..) and back then I wasn’t in the pony community (I didn’t fully get into the pony community till 2009 but I still have a love for ponies before then). So I wanted to honor her patcents in me finally finding her again… although she is in storage again because eventually I’m going to move to another house either this year or next year (we are working on it lol)

I’m getting to liking my simple backgrounds for my pony work.. however, I am not in love with how I shaded her… I wanted the shading to be softer but it didn’t do so well this time… Maybe I will try a different way of shading next time… who knows. The one thing I did do interestingly with her is I made her stripe two color… Her gimmik was that she had a color changing strip in her mane and tail (OOPS forgot to put it on her tail! Oh well..) that changed color in the sun… so instead of it just being a solid pink I wanted to add the purple from the color changine :D

Did I pull that off well? I have no idea but it gave me a chance to try a different way to do a sort of gradient!

Didn’t mean to put this off last minute but I was dealing with being sick this month!
