It all started back when the ‘Elements of Harmony’ was used. Nightmare moon was destroyed and in her place a weak Luna remained. Well, weak and scared is the better answer. As soon Princess Celestia arrived to Ponyville with her sister everyone cheered that the horror of Nightmare moon finally was over. Only one could see that Luna wasn’t happy. As soon the celebration started Fluttershy slowly walked over to her former opponent.

“Um…excuse me?” she said with her usual timid voice.

Luna looked up at the rather shy pony wondering what she wanted from her. Fluttershy replied that she thought Luna looked lonely and just wanted to comfort her some. The two started to talk even if the other ponies sometimes came in between. Even Princess Celestia noticed how most ponies were still scared of her sister. Only the shy and timid Fluttershy seemed to really dare to talk to her.

“I hope you will feel better soon.” Fluttershy said to Luna.

“Yes…thank you Fluttershy. I hope the ponies will forgive me.” Luna murmured and looked down some.

“I’m sure they will.” She said smiling at Luna.

She smiled back to Fluttershy some. Pinkie pie saw them and jumped over in her, as always, cheerful manner and gave them some cupcakes to eat and urged them both to dance to the music. Luna looked little unsure but Pinkie didn’t give in and half forced Luna out to dance with everyone else. Left behind stood Fluttershy and smiled some when she watched them dance. She felt sorry for Luna and really whished that the other ponies would give her a second chance. And currently, out at the dance floor, they didn’t seem to mind her too much.

But, like everything else, the fun must come to an end and the night slowly came down over the land of Equestria. Slowly the ponies started to make their way home to sleep. Princess Celestia also left with her guards. But Luna had asked to stay behind some; she didn’t really feel the need to go home just yet. Her sister nodded and told her that she could stay, as long she didn’t try to turn into Nightmare Moon again. Luna promised that but still felt little sad over that the ponies all went to bed during the night. Fluttershy saw that and walked over to Luna.

“I want to show you something.” She told her.

“Show me what?” Luna asked little confused.

Fluttershy gave her a timid smile and then took her outside. Sure most ponies went to bed and that still made Luna sad. But she followed Fluttershy up to a hill to watch the night sky some before Fluttershy pointed over Manehattan and the ever shining light from the large city.

“There is Manehattan. It’s a large town that seems to never be sleeping. Even during the night.” Fluttershy told her.

She told Luna many more things, mostly about the nature. Had it been Twilight Sparkle who sat there it would most likely have been more of a lecture but now Luna could speak with Fluttershy like normal. And as the night went on Fluttershy told Luna more of what had happened in Equestria during the millennia she had been captured on the moon. Listening Luna started to feel happier that ponies now had started to stay awake even during the night and that the night gave them something the day couldn’t: a place to party with multi coloured lights flashing.

And as the clock ticked on and the night drew closer to midnight Fluttershy started to feel tired and yawned some. Luna noticed that and smiled some as she looked at her new friend. Fluttershy smiled back at her but looked really sleepy now. As they watched the night sky together Luna started to have another feeling inside of her. Once again she looked at a sleepy Fluttershy and noticed how the stars reflected in her eyes. She looked so beautiful in the shine of the stars and moon and Luna felt how her heart started to pump little faster the more she looked at her. Quickly she looked away again but the feeling was still here. And the feeling grew some more when she felt Fluttershy snuggle up to her to rest.

‘Is it love?’ she thought as she watched the starry skies. A small, slivery tear started to slowly fall down her cheek when the thought grew inside her mind. Love. That word got a whole new meaning to her now. Once again she looked down at the sleeping Fluttershy. Maybe love was what happening here and now?

It’s a first time I ever write a fan-fic with only canon chars so bare with me okay. I’m all new to this.
