Welcome to the gallery

The Gallery was the centerpiece of the inner ring of buildings on the bottom floor of the Underworld. The inverse pyramid beneath the Fourth Kingdom, with its terraces leading down to a final string of buildings, pointed towards it constantly. A small pyramid of brick and lights nestled in the heart of everything. It was relatively mundane looking, most of the time, but at the moment it was strung up with spotlights and the red carpet had been rolled out. It was a grand re-opening of sorts. Renovations had been completed, and in that time there was a new wave of sarcophagi completed.

Emerging from within the building, Essraa Seshat emerged in a familiar golden corset, accented by many pieces of jewelry against her form. For warmth, she was wearing a clear latex bodysuit, giving her whole body a shimmer to it even under the other pieces. Grinning from ear to ear, she basked in the light as the spotlights were trained on her. She usually hated doing these public appearances, but if nothing else she was damn proud of this batch.

“Sorry for the wait, darlings.” She spoke into a headset mic, hidden behind her braided hair. “I know you’ve all been extra patient while we got the dust settled. Now, see the fruits of our labor.” The grand doors of the pyramid opened behind her, and the woman turned on a dime to enter, the lights within filling the room with golden light. The sandy bricks painted a very warm backdrop against the colorful collection of rubber works around the building.

“Come, come. Let me give you the tour~”

oooooookay! That wonderful bit of writing was by essraa-seshat essraa-seshat for our bit of co-opted work here. It’s the cumulative result of about a month’s worth of work and I’m quite happy with how it came out. We’ll both be posting individual versions with details on what their plaques read later once we’ve worked them all out with each of the commissioners.
