Description:
Clover clambers up the soaked stairway of the ship, the rain drizzling down steadily in the dim light of the lanterns. For some reason, this section of the deck isn’t lit up. Clover soon realizes why, though, as her night vision kicks in and she can see the rolling sea properly. Huh.
“What’re you doing up? It’s way past your bedtime. And this storm is a bit too dangerous for you to be up here.” Hook says to the filly, confused. Clover waves her hoof joyfully, ignoring the rainfall around her.
Clover answers that she knocked Sabre unconscious, like a brave hero! This only leaves Hook with even more questions. Before he can ask them, though, Clover questions where Shanty is.
“Huh? She’s up in the mast, keeping things tied down. Don’t even think about going up there, unless if you can fly. Fly with WINGS. In the rain. And strong winds.”
He glares at the filly.
“Seriously, don’t.”
Saddened by his response, Clover asks if she can take the wheel for a minute. She wants to be the pirate captain, complete with pirate hat and eye patch.
“On a normal day, I’d definitely say yes. But we could hit a swell at any moment, and it could jerk the wheel from your hooves. Best not, even if I held it.” He gives her a reassuring smile. “But maybe Silverwind will let you, once the storm dies down. We’re heading out of the worst of it, shouldn’t be more than half an hour from now.”
Critical hit! Clover is super sad she can’t pilot the ship like a true pirate. She presses on, regardless of the emotional injuries. She asks if maybe she could help on top?
“Actually, we’re about to start packing it back in once we get out of the storm. But I think Skillet could use some help gathering the extra rope from the Anchor Room. A few of our lines snapped keeping the mast from flying off.”
But Clover wants to help Sea Wind!
“She’s about to head in and go back to sleep. Besides, Skillet could use the company.”
Well, she has a task now. What should Clover do next?
