1st day of the Obscure Monsters Challenge 2019 by GoldandSliverDragon!

I ended up going a bit overboard on this one compared to the amount of time I actually had for it. But I regret nothing! I love how it turned out!

Not ALL Obscure Monsters for this challenge gonna be MLP themed, but I just couldn’t help myself with this first one. I love the concept of interpretation the Royal Sisters from FiM as goddesses of some sort, just as much as them just happen to be very powerful ponies. I know mixing Princess Luna with Nyx the Goddess of Night ain’t new, but just so very fitting and fun to play with.

I also took obvious, heavy inspiration from Luna’s role as the Spirit of Christmas Hearths Warming Yet to Come, as I loved that cape design and her song from that episode. The wings were a bit of an experiment, mixing in a design idea I’ve loved from other peoples’ works of mixing Luna’s feathery wings with the leathery bat design as well. Just wanted to see if I could pull it off.

So, a mixture of a lot of things, and I like the overall result. Cheating a bit at the end by darkening the edges through photoshop, as I am quite indeedly running low on time as I’m already past bedtime just to upload this thing on time.
