Time for some dramaaaaaa~

Night Glider and Double Diamond knew each other shortly before they had their identities stripped by Starlight Glimmer, but only enough so that they knew each other’s names. But during their brainwashed imprisonment, the two became friends with each other, Party Favor, and Sugar Belle. The four began all realizing their intense interests in cutie marks, since at the time they had none, which only became more obvious when the Princess of Friendship and her friends came into the village. And once their cutie marks returned and their personalities restored, they had a chance to become friends all over again.

It didn’t take long for the trauma of Starlight’s rule on their village to affect each and every one of them, so they heavily depended on each other and occasional intoxication. But soon enough, Sugar Belle became busy with her romantic relationship and moved away, and Party Favor ran away with the circus. Only half of their group remained, leaving Double Diamond and Night Glider to bond closely and make a series of bad decisions. The two used each other, not that either minded, as they tried to forget what they had gone through. They were drawn to each other, only by desperation to feel something other than fear and anger, and lost themselves in each other’s embrace.

It only took a few months of their reckless (and usually unprotected) behavior for Night Glider to start feeling the early symptoms of pregnancy. She was such a logical mare, and had yet ignored the fact that their actions could lead to such an outcome. Glider debated on it for a long time, but eventually told Double Diamond, who was anything but interested in even being in an official relationship, much less raising a child. Fortunately, Night Glider had no problem admitting that she also wasn’t ready to have a foal of her own. Night Glider carried the child to term, without Double Diamond’s help (which didn’t bother her), and gave the baby up for adoption immediately after being born. The only thing she said to the baby was “You’ll find an amazing family that will give you all the love you deserve, but that family just isn’t with me” before sending them off in the arms of a nurse. Double Diamond and Night Glider distanced themselves from each other and what remained of their friendship fell apart quickly, now having new memories together that they would rather forget.

Night Glider didn’t know it, as she made sure to cut all ties with the baby in a closed adoption file, but Snowfall never got adopted. They jumped from foster house to foster house, running away occasionally and living on the streets before being returned to the system again. And once Snow was of legal age, the foster system released him into the world, where they would find an entry level job in a weather factory and hop from shelter to shelter just to find a place to sleep.
