* Back several years ago Chrysalis infiltrated the Crystal Empire with a select few changelings, the quietly replaced members of the castle staff and observed the rulers. They stayed in disguise for almost a year before enacting a plan to take over the Empire. Under the guise of night when Shining Armor and Cadance were attending some business separately, Chrysalis and her changelings captured Shining Armor locking him away deep beneath the Empire, with a guard to keep his emotions drained. Chrysalis assumed Shining Armor's appearance and spent the next two years fooling Cadance into believing she was her finance. It was when the wedding came about that Chrysalis' goal was nearly complete, she was going to have a marital tie to the true ruler of the Empire and if things worked out a biological heir as well, but that plan began to crumble beneath her feat as Shining Armor's little sister came around.

Chrysalis knew how Shining Armor and Cadance treated each other but she didn't know nearly enough to be able to fool the stallion's sister; there were too many questions and memories that she couldn't reliably answer. She held off the mare's suspicions as long as she could but Twilight sniffed out her brother and the changelings were forced attempt a hostile takeover, which was soon beaten back as well. Chrysalis and her changelings retreated from the Empire and fell back into hiding. It wasn't until a few weeks later, when the Empire was finally returning to normal and Cadance was finally stamping out the doubts in her head, that her marriage was thrown for another loop.

Cadance's recent sickness wasn't from the stress of re-securing her Empire and tentatively rekindling her and Shining's relationship; it was morning sickness. Cadance was pregnant and the foal most certainly didn't belong to her now husband. The princess of love keep the pregnancy quite for another few weeks before the guilt finally consumed her and she confessed to Shining Armor of the foal growing inside her and how she couldn't bring herself to get rid of it like a wise ruler would probably do. Shining Armor was a good stallion though and he'd loved Cadance for far longer than she returned those feelings. He knew the duplicity was no fault of her own and the child was created under a love for himself, so he promised the pregnant alicorn that the child was his, blood relation or not; he would love the little foal regardless because she was an innocent soul and maybe just maybe she could be a major piece in helping bring the changelings to the side of good and love.

The Empire was informed of the pregnancy and of the foal's parentage, outcries of rage and upset followed, they believed it was a way for the Changeling queen to return and claim the Empire for her own, but Chrysalis was none the wiser to the foal's existence and Cadance would not budge on the matter. Eventually though a compromise was met to ease the citizen's fear. The hybrid foal would never have claim though the throne of the Crystal Empire and a true heir would have to be created. Princess Lovebite was born under the bright moon and a raging blizzard and Cadance couldn't help but love her at first sight, even Shining Armor felt endearment well up inside him when looking at his wife and the tiny foal. She was going to do great things with her life, he could feel it. The tiny hybrid had not been on the earth for more than ten minutes before she attempted to bite the stallion's hoof with a pleased whinny and it was how she was christened with her name, a trait that would take years to break from anyone a outside the family.

Facts/Quirks:
* *Lovebite went through a faze of resentment towards Flurry Heart for she was so easily loved by the people and allowed to take the throne, she didn't understand why she wasn't good enough for them, however it didn't take long for her to get over it and enjoy the freedom of not being tied to the throne gave her.

Lovebite still has a small need to feed on emotions however it is greatly diminished from what Unseelie Changelings need to maintain their health.

It was about a year after Chrysalis and Celestia created their pact that Cadance and Shining Armor brought Lovebite to meet her other mother. Chrysalis was incredibly shocked and confused, surely any smart ruler would have disposed or hidden away a potential usurper to the throne. It was a bit awkward and stilted on her side but apparently the two never badmouthed the Changeling Queen to Lovebite and the young Princess was thrilled to meet a changeling like herself. Chrysalis could see the love both rulers had for the little hybrid. She later cried about the opportunity to know her first child and be a bit overwhelmed at the love she received in the privacy of her and Celestia's bedroom (Celestia knew about it but never breathed a word).
