MLPOCA - Test #1

SS : Testing, testing . . . !? uh, Violet? W-who are these people?

VP : You got the wrong server, you're connecting with Earth right now.

Aw man, I could never have guessed who submitted this question eh DarkMa- I mean, anon!

Alright, I need a few more tests, this one's really so-so in personal expectation, so if a few people can throw some more sample questions over here - [link] then that'd be awesome.

The line-art is fine ('cept I should part Shooting's mane away from her eyes, right now it looks like she's derped here and there lol), but the coloring method could have done better because I didn't separate enough layers when I did this. Tried to do a simplified approach, but it ended up looking unsatisfactory to me, I might switch back to the detail-attention I had for when I draw 'simple' drawings if I can't get a different approach to work.

Also due to the current mix-up of style, the way I draw backgrounds don't work as well in this approach. This is the main problem.

I'm in the 'get stuff improved ASAP' stage, so critical critiques for 'any' aspects are allowed.

What I learned? I'm more satisfied by a multi-panel approach, I don't think I can sum up a decent response in a few panels, not that it couldn't happen but yea. However, in sacrifice, I won't choose an ask to answer too frequently.

Depending on how questions are asked, I might approach it from a more indirect manner such as here, Shooting is asked about method of communication here, but the panels build up to how the question is answered with the assistance of Violet. I had this idea planned out prior to the question rather to lampshade the whole dimensional/voice-out-of-nowhere dealio, the magic-technology development of Equestria in this 'alternate-universe-that-takes-place-a-few-years-ahead-of-canon' will be explored later. Of course, ponies can come and visit Shooting, or send mail to her depending on the situation.
