A Tribute to Billie Mae Richards (1921-2010)

Intro:

I know it's early to talk about this movie, but since the holidays are coming, I gotta do it...

This movie is one of my favorites since i was a child, and yet this movie is my favorite while i grew older year after year.

And i wish Kori will enjoy this movie for Christmas, too.

Plot:

After "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", Santa received a strange message that was wrote by Father Time saying that Happy, the Baby New Year, is missing... that's why Santa sends Rudolph to find Happy before the 6 days are up... and he did.

During the snow storm, General Ticker was joining Rudolph as they trek through the blizzard...

And with great effort, they reached the Sands of Time...

Then, The Great Quarter Past 5 (as Rudolph calls him "Quart" for short) camed in to help them before Eon the Terrible shows up...

After they encounter Eon, they talked about Eon's true plan before they continued to trek to Father Time's Castle.

As Rudolph camed to Father Time's presence, he talked to Rudolph about how an Old King stepping Down and a New one taking its place (aka, the end of the year and the beginning of a New Year) before Jan. 1st starts... after that, he talked to Rudolph about Happy's disappearance and his journey to the Archepologo of Last Years (The Group of Islands).

Father Time then sends Rudolph to where the boat was as he starts his journey to find Happy... but after a minute of a song, Eon shows up again to stop Rudolph from finding Happy, and Eon was determined that Rudolph would not find Happy.

But before Eon swoops down at Rudolph, Big Ben (the Clockwork Whale) shows up to save Rudolph from Eon...

When Big Ben took Rudolph to Island 1M B.C. (going to retire) to find O.M. and talks about if Happy is here or not after another song number... O.M told him Happy was here a moment ago, but left because of his "Big Ears"... Happy made himself a boat out of a giant congshell and he sailed off, running away once more...

so the two searched for Happy for 2 Days (Meaning: 1893 Never heard of him, 1492 is too busy discovering things than even talks to them, 1965 was too noisy, and all of 4,000 B.C. can think about was building Pyramids)... now they have 3 Days til Dec. 31st, Time's running short!

But as they approach Island 1023, they talked to Sir 1023 about Happy before they search the entire Island of every Fairy Tale Creatures... Humpty Dumpty saw Happy, but he fell off the wall due to Happy's Big Ears, the 7 Dwarves didn't seen Happy, and some Witch that makes Gold Coins saw Happy but he ran away from her due to how scary-looking she was...

meanwhile, Happy came inside the cottage of the Bear Family to sleep (after he eats/taste test the Brear's portage and breaks Baby Bear's chair)... but he didn't realized that the 3 Bears (the owners of the cottage) are home...

After Baby Bear found Happy sleeping on his bed, he and Happy went outside to play Knights in Shining Armor... but it was cut short due to the rules (Aka, Gast off his Helmet (Hat) in triumph)... he took off his hat and... they laughed... and Happy ran into the dangerous forest all alone...

meanwhile, Eon caught Happy... The three went to go after Eon (hopefully Big Ben can swim fast), and Big Ben uses his blow hole to squirt water on him, they thought Happy fall off... Happy uses his old Hat parachute trick (Super Mario Bros Wonder copyed that... WHY, NINTENDO) to land safely... but a strong wind blew him out of sight... now, they have 2 days left...

That old wind held the Baby New Year off for more than a day, but then, just as if suddenly as he blew up, he blew away again...

then, Happy came down from a kite, on still another Island... but one belonging to, Island of 1776 (Aka, ongoing 4th of July celebration... even though it's Dec. 30th... But not on this island, no siry!)

When the Pledge of Elegance started, Happy took off his hat... before the three got to him on time, it was too late... IT HAPPENED AGAIN!

Later at night, Eon caught Happy again...

Now the four has only 1 day of New Years left...

But before all hope is lossed, Rudolph gave a motivational song number before they arrived at the Isle of No Name...

After they arrived, they only have 1 half hour left... after the four were turned into helpless snowballs, Eon tells Happy that:

"Your last hope is gone, and you will live here with me as my slave.

And all time will stop that I will never have to turned into Ice and Snow!

I'm save, Save, SAVE AT LAST!!!"

Eon is so comforting by his success as he snuggled down to his nest, drifting of to a content sleep, curtained that Happy was his forever, and indeed it did look as if everything is over for Rudolph and his friends... but.........

Rudolph escapes the Snowball Prison and finds Happy himself.....

After he met Happy, he told his backstory...

After his backstory, he told him to take off his hat before he told him that Happy's ears make folks Happy!

But, Happy woke Eon up... Rudolph tells Happy to quickly take his hat off for good then.......

Well, that's the first time that monstrosity ever laughed in his life.
he laughed so hard that he fell right off of his nest and let O.M, 1023 & Sev free from their Snowballs.

As midnight dawns, Santa took the other to Father Time's Castle before the Twelfth Bong...

And they've just made it, without a bong to spare...

Outside, the New Year, 19 Wonderful, arrived.

Afted the song ends, it ends with Rudolph saying to the audience, "And may it be shiny, too!" before he lits his nose, winked to the audience and fades completely to the credits.

Outro:

This movie/special from Rankin/Bass Production... it was awesome!

The Stop Motion is very realistic and very cool, the voice acting is awesome. the musics are awesome, and the design on Rudolph... it was perfect.

overall, i gave this flick 10/10 for best Christmas movie from the legendary studio that brings real Animagic to life.....

and someday, I'm getting the Forever Fun Rudolph Figure that has a lit up nose, Jingle Bell harnest and a 7 inched tree for Christmas so I can learn how to do a Smoother Stop Motion animation just as Rankin/Bass use to Animate their Movies...

Since the Holidays are coming up in 2 Months from now, I just wanted to say...
