So for the longest time (actually around the time I first started this page years ago), I shipped AJ with an OC that I created named Boombox Bling. At the time, it was a fun and even compelling idea because of how the two contrasted with each other: the country pony and the city pony. But after watching my friend tootiseroll2's videos, particularly the "Brony Problems" episode that covered the topic of shipping, I began to reconsider. For the life of me, though, I could not figure out which canon character I would ship her with. Until recently, it finally clicked.

Rockhoof definitely seems like the kind of pony that AJ would vibe with: tough, strong, noble, determined, and apparently has a godlike work ethic. I mean, the guy single-handedly dug a trench to save this village from burning. It's no wonder why his legend is her (and Applebloom's) favorite. So yeah, this is my new favorite ship for AJ. It's damn near perfect, I must say. I could see the two having at least one son.

I kind of set this in my Viking AU (the same one as Pinkie Pie), which is why AJ is wearing Nordic garb. Or maybe she adopted his style while still keeping her country swag, either one. Also, you may notice that the lyrics are a revised version of "You're in my head like a catchy song." The same song that Applejack's mom sang to her father. Only this time, it's a lullaby.
