In the My Little Pony episode, Newbie Dash, Rainbow Dash had finally joined the Wonderbolts. But unfortunately, she was abused by the other Wonderbolts there, especially Spitfire. Since they were constantly calling her a terrible nickname from her childhood that she would rather forget. So after Rainbow got sent to the hospital from an accident during a performance show, the Steam Team rebel against Spitfire for not just her treatment of Rainbow, but also for starting the whole mess. After Spitfire was banished from Equestria, she turned evil and teamed up with Lightning Dust to get revenge on Rainbow Dash and the Steam Team.
