To those that are new, these are designs I made for Spike's grandparents and father respectively. I've already shown plenty of images of Smite grown up and have reunited Spike with his father in a previous story, but this is my first time showing what Rubble and Pebble look like. This was obviously years ago when Smite was still a kid so Spike has yet to be born.

This portrait appears as a portrait in the Ester Dracos Arc of My Little Sister is a Dragon during chapter 5. This is the picture that causes Nightwatch to start fearing that he could lose Buttercream because he believes, upon seeing it, that she is related to them (which she is). Knowing that King Rubble hates ponies, he worries that they might invade Equestria to take her back if they find out she is there. Nightwatch vows to keep this secret from Buttercream due to the fact he cares about her so much since she replaced his sister that died at birth.

Well as you can see, Rubble doesn't appear very friendly, but he's not really that horrible of a king and he's actually quite nice, it's just ponies he has an issue with. Pebble is far more open-minded and friendly. Smite is like his mother but takes after his dad with his toughness and becomes a very strong dragon and good king one day. I have yet to use Rubble in a story and he's only made an appearance in the form of this portrait, but there is an episode in "Flurry Heart's Story" in which he'll have some importance.
