Once Ævrefreodeh had grown big enough, it became a common thing for the inhabitants of the town to form ad hoc teams to play sports against each other or other nearby towns, and out of those efforts eventually the Ævrefreodeh Sport Club was founded in 1973 to formalize those encounters against outsiders. By 1982, the team, still an amateur concern, had a football section (for the stallions) and a volleyball section (for the mares), both teams playing in the lowest level of the regional Istakhr league.
