I've always felt that Twilight's friends were treated unfairly, not only by the show, but also by many people in the fandom, who always prefer to give more value to secondary characters like Starlight, Sunset, and sometimes even Trixie, who have done almost nothing compared to Twilight's friends, who represent the elements of harmony, they have always proven their worth, helped save Equestria in several times, and the most importantly, they HELPED Twilight become the princess she is. If it weren't for them, Twilight wouldn't have any of what she has achieved.

So I think Twilight's friends deserve more recognition than any other pony. I've also always thought it was unfair that only Twilight had the privilege of becoming a princess and always being the center of attention throughout the show and movies, when her friends are as important as she is

I think it would have been better to give a special role to all the Mane 6 TOGETHER, instead of making just one of them a princess, because that sounds like only one of them is important.

I also think Twilight should never have become a princess, but I think it's less worse than her being ruler of Equestria, which I found very forced and goes completely against her destiny, which was to be the PRINCESS OF FRIENDSHIP. This was made very clear between seasons 3 and 4, and it is something that she works well, and alongside her friends. So I don't see the slightest sense in her becoming ruler.
