Many in the world of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic can attest to the power of the Fluttershy Stare which the eponymous pegasus mare uses to control and scold others. But what if the stare could also reach eldritch levels of power that with one look is able to psychoanalyze a target and reduce them to an emotionally shattered wreck? On par with the light attacks of the angel Arael from Episode 22 of Neon Genesis Evangelion as it defiles the psyche of Asuka Langley Soryu? Well, I have found what could be the best practice target for a Fluttershy Stare of Doom to be enacted upon - Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) Earle Gerheim "Crazy Earl" Hartman, USMC as played by Gunnery Sergeant Ronald (R.) Lee Ermey, USMC in Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam War antiwar epic Full Metal Jacket based on Gustav Hasford's novel The Short-Timers with material lifted from Dispatches by Michael Herr. Make up what you want about this, but Gunny is still to be broken.

I am open for people to role play (RP) the roles of Fluttershy and Hartman in the comments section below to see through Fluttershy's perspective what makes the Gunny tick and whether in or out of the Corps has cemented such a xenophobic/misogynistic/homophobic and fanatical/insecure worldview on Hartman. Whether it's a recasting of the Arael mind violation of Asuka from Evangelion or some other plan, there is but one ironclad rule. Either path the RP (roleplay) takes to get there, the result should always be the same - after a fierce battle of wills and wits inside the mind against the stare of psychoanalysis; Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) Earle Gerheim "Crazy Earl" Hartman, USMC is reduced by our cute and innocent Fluttershy from an all-powerful and belligerent tyrannical force to a pathetic, impotent, broken, near-pitiable shell of a man whose fanatical mind has one look of scrutiny undermine it. Gunny's obsession belies unresolved issues.
