Lightning Dust sighed as she watched the wonderbolts from her place in the garden. She’d been given another chance to be in the wonderbolts, but she had to wait for the next season. She watched as her old partner Rainbow Dash preformed a swift move only the best of the best would be able to preform. She flinched as she remembered how her former actions had crippled her friendship with Rainbow, and how she’d put others life’s in danger for the sake of being the best. Shame washed over her, and she placed her wings over her face in embarassment. “Hey there.” A golden stallion said, taking a seat next to her among the flowers. “Their pretty cool huh?” He asked, shooting a kind smile at the cyan pegasus. Lightning Dust nodded. “Yeah. They are pretty great.” He tilted his head slightly. “Your Lightning Dust correct?” Lightning Dust nodded slightly, before asking. “How do you know who I am?” He chuckled, smiling. “Your the recruit who formed that awesome tornado that cleared an entire sky of clouds! And in record time too.” Lightning Dust frowned, trying to hide her embarassment. “Oh… Are you over here to make fun of me? That wouldn’t be the first time…” The stallion shook his head, and held out a hoof for her to shake. “Of course I’m not over here to make fun of you. Your like, the best flier that I know of. I’m Flash Sentry by the way.” Lightning Dust hesitated, but shook his hoof. “Your part of the royal guard, correct?” She asked. He nodded, pointing with a hoof towards the crystal empire. “That’s where I usually work. But today’s my day off.” Lightning Dust nodded, slightly confused and then asked. “So, wait. If today’s your only day off I’m assuming, then why are you wasting it talking to me?” Flash blinked, and then shrugged. “I’m not wasting it. I’m talking to a beautiful mare who looked lonely sitting here.” Lightning Dust felt her face turn red, and she looked down. “Oh… how nnice of you… Flash..” She studdered, very flustered at his words. Flash smiled thoughtfully, and then placed a hoof on her shoulder. “I’m truly sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable.” Her head popped up, and she quickly retorted. “I’m not uncomferable! Just suprised if anything. Nopony really thinks of me that way.” Flash looked suprised. “Really now? Well that’s got to change.” Flash said, standing up an plucking a dasiy from the garden, and placing it behind her ear. She blushed even harder, as he reached out his hoof for her to take. “Will you accompany me to lunch? It’ll be a lot more entertaining than sitting alone in the flowers.” She thought about his offer for a moment, before taking his hoof. “One lunch.” She said, as he pulled her off the ground, and the pair walked out of the garden.

Lightning Dust and Flash Sentry started dating after their lunch, and stayed together ever since. After a trip to Ponyville, Flash helped Lightning Dust make amends with Rainbow Dash and the rest of her friends, and together they moved to Ponyville. Of course because of Flash’s job he wasn’t around all the time, but he was around whenever he could be there. Lightning Dust became a weather pony in Ponyville, and spent most of her time making sure the weather was on schedule. Two years after they got together, Flash proposed to Lightning Dust, and they had their wedding in the crystal empire. 1 year after their marrige, Lightning Dust found out she was pregnant, and Flash took time off his duties to take care of her until their foal was born. Strobe Shield, other wise known as Cece, was born a few months later premature, in the crystal empire. As a filly, Cece spent a lot of time trying to convince her parents to teach her how to be a royal guard. Her mother shunned on the idea, not wanting her precious baby to get hurt. However, her father decided to give her some lessons anyway, and on her very first lesson, she earned her cutiemark by saving her friend Novamac from a falling flowerpot. From that day forward, she trained to be Princess Novamac’s personal guard, and graduated years later as an offical royal guard. As an adult, Strobe Shield is stationed in Ponyville with her mother and friends, and is the personal royal guard to Novamac. She represents the element of protection, and spends her freetime with her friends and family.
