As part of an assignment for her psychology class at Canterlot High, Twilight Sparkle is tasked with hypnotizing a friend from outside the class, give them a post-hypnotic suggestion, and then record them carrying out the suggestion. That day after school, as she is in the auditorium helping Sunset Shimmer with set design for the upcoming school play, Twilight asks her fiery-haired friend if she could hypnotize her for a little while for her assignment. To her surprise, Sunset actually agrees to be Twilight’s volunteer as she’s always wondered what it feels like to be under hypnosis. Delighted by this, Twilight levitates a gold pocket watch with her geode powers, positions it in front of Sunset’s face and starts to swing it back and forth as she tells her friend to relax. After a 10-minute induction, Twilight has successfully placed Sunset in a deep blissful trance, thereby accomplishing the first part of the assignment. The purple-skinned girl then tells her hypnotized friend that when she wakes up, she will think that she is a graceful ballerina from France who is about to perform a recital for a crowd of her adoring fans. After Sunset agrees to her temporary conditioning, Twilight instructs the hypnotized teen to go backstage and put on the pink ballerina outfit that is hanging on the nearby costume rack. Once again, Sunset obliges and immediately heads off to go get changed. As she does this, Twilight (having placed the watch back in her pocket) hops off the stage and takes a seat in the front row of chairs set up on the auditorium floor, satisfied with how well her assignment is going so far……

A little while later, the hypnotized Sunset returns and stands to attention in the center of the stage, the fiery-haired teen having ditched her black stagehand outfit & earpiece for a pink leotard & tutu along with a pair of pink ballet slippers on her feet. What’s more, she has even used a discarded hair elastic to pull her hair back in a ponytail. After taking out her cellphone to record the performance, Twilight snaps her fingers to awaken Sunset from her trance. Upon snapping back to reality, Sunset (as per her earlier conditioning) turns to face the imaginary audience and gives a brief 1-minute introduction entirely in French, which legitimately impresses Twilight. Once she is done, the fiery-haired ballerina gives a small curtsy before standing on her tiptoes and performing an impressively graceful ballet routine, softly humming a little tune to herself as she dances. All the while, as she records her dancing friend from her seat, Twilight wonders to herself as to how Sunset will react to the video after she is fully brought out of hypnosis…..
