I’m feeling hella inspired by all these people making next gen AU’s so here is what I’ve been working on for a while ;w;

twilight x Rainbow dash

- I don’t know why but I find the dynamic of Nerd x Athlete very compatible. I imagine twilight being set in her ways and only doing new things if she has enough research about it, and rainbow dash giving her a taste of spontaneity.

In a similar way, twi helps dash by researching better and more effective ways of doing things. Rainbow is an official wonderbolts member and she sometimes overworks herself. Twi makes sure she regains her energy and knows how to deal with dash when she gets stubborn, and dash makes sure twi doesn’t overwork herself in her studies due to spike not being around to keep an eye on the studious alicorn.

They are constantly learning new things from each other and it keeps their relationship interesting. Now and again they will get into heated arguments due to their stubbornness, but in the end they love each other dearly and wouldn’t trade each other for the world.

Applejack x Lightning dust

- Stubborness x2. These two were made for each other.

They were enemies at first and couldn’t stand each other, but lightning dust needed to have a large area to train and a field was exactly what she was looking for. She asked (aka demanded) to use the large field behind sweet apple archers and applejack reluctantly agreed because (to quote Granny Smith) “she’s paying’, money is money darlin’. No point in bein’ picky now.”

Applejack would see the pegasus training from early in the morning till late in the night while she was tending to the orchard. Eventually she would start bringing her water and snacks because, even though she didn’t like her, she cared about her well being like any decent pony would. They started spending their lunches together and broke the ice. From there on they would talk for hours, and now and then they would take naps together under an apple tree in the late summer afternoon. They started to grow on each other and lightning dust would occasionally help AJ with her work when she had a lot on her plate. AJ would help with lightning dusts flying the best she could, even though she didn’t know anything about it :’‘‘3.

It took 3 long years for these two to become close enough to even think about being in a relationship, but eventually they became a power couple.

Lightning dust is still very hard on herself when she doesn’t achieve absolute perfection, but AJ is always there to bring her down to earth (pun intended).

Fluttershy x Discord

- do I really need to explain this? is it not obvious? The “LORD OF CHAOS, BREAKER OF WORLDS, DESTROYER OF HARMONY” who is head over heals for the shy sweetheart that is flutter shy. You think discord is the dangerous one in this relationship? oooooohhho you got it all wrong my friend. Fluttershy may be quiet, but she knows how to get her way. Fluttershy is a veterinarian and it takes a tole on her from time to time. Death isn’t easy to deal with, even if you’ve dealt with it multiple times. Discord helps as much as he can, he helps with expansions in her cottage to make space for any animal in need. The two work well together. Discord loves flutter shy with every fibre of his being, and gets very possessive of her, but flutter shy assures him there is no need to do so, she knows how to handle herself.

These two are like the cool aunt and uncle that live in a cottage and bring you weird and wonderful gifts, 10/10 power couple.

Rarity x Capper

- This relationship is wobbly at it’s best. Rarity is besotted by capper, he’s so charming and kind. She adores him and in her eyes he can do no wrong. Capper on the other hand has rarity wrapped around his fingers. He treasures her, but at times she looses his interest and he ‘wanders’. Rarity’s friends can see the problems with their relationship however rarity thinks he will change his ways.

This relationship is like a fire. Beautiful, passionate and fierce. But if not watched, can destroy everything in its path. And not in a good way, poor rarity.

Pinky Pie x Coco Pommel x Cheese sandwich

- Perfect Poly Pony couple. Originally it was pinkie and cheese, but after traveling with each other around equestria they came across one of pinkies old friends. Coco had a cup of coffee with the two of them and they hit it off. The two would come to visit coco and coco would occasionally visit them. Eventually they spoke about it and all three felt the same and were comfortable starting a poly relationship. Coco wasnt too fond of city life and came to live with the two in ponyville. They love and care for each other dearly and there is no favouritism amongst them. Cheese and pinkie help coco with her timidness and coco helps them with party themes and colour pallets.

A powerful trio that all bring different aspects to each others lives and relationship. They’re differences is what makes them stronger, all in all, a beautiful representation of a healthy loving relationship.
